Next, it saves time. Rather than having to go through a long list of sections, paragraphs, bullet points, etc., this is perfect for skimming. In turn, a recruiter can get all of the essential information they need very quickly.

It’s also great for showcasing your creativity. Remember that each infographic resume has a unique design, which is an excellent way to show your individuality — something that many recruiters will find appealing.

 The Cons

 Perhaps the biggest issue is that not all employers will accept an infographic resume. Many are still traditionalists who expect a standard format that’s been around for decades. So in some cases, this can instantly disqualify you from any further consideration for a job.

Second, this might not be the right fit for certain positions. While it may be acceptable for professions that value creativity such as designers and writers, it can potentially hurt your chances for more formal positions (e.g. an administrative assistant). In this case, your resume may be viewed as unprofessional, which certainly won’t help your chances.

Lastly, you should be aware that many modern recruiters use an applicant tracking system (ATS) to search for candidates by keywords. Because most infographic resumes are in PDF formats, you may not show up when an employer performs a keyword search in their ATS. So, in this type of situation, you’re basically invisible.

An infographic resume is definitely a format to consider. However, before taking the plunge, it’s important to look at it from all angles and figure out if it’s something that would appeal to an average recruiter in your industry. If so, go for it.
